Academy Awards

An Academy award is an award bestowed by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science (AMPAS) to recognize the excellence of professionals in the film industry.

The AMPAS was originally conceived by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer boss Louis B. Mayer as a professional honorary organization to improve film industry.

The First Best Actor awarded was Emil Jennings for his performance in The Last Command and The way of all Flesh.

Oscar Statuette is made of Gold plated britannium on a black metal base, it is 34cm tall, weighs 3.85 kg and depicts a Knight rendered in art Deco style holding a crusader's sword standing on a reel of film with 5 spokes each representing the original branches of the academy like: Actors,writers, Directors, Producers and technicians.

Present Venue : Kodak Theater , Los Angels.

Roger Moore:

Moore, longest serving bond spending 12 years in this role with 7 movies. It was during moore's tenure , bond character stopped smoking altogether. He changed the genre of bond films from violence to strange humour with violence.

Timothy Dalton :

Timothy Dalton had been considered to replace Sean Connery in 1968 but he walked away from his screen test, at the age 22, feeling that he was too young for the role. Twelve years later Dalton was approached again to possibly replace Roger Moore.

James Bond film series is a British series of motion pictures based on the fictional character of MI6 agent james bond ( code designated "007" ) who originally appeared in a series of books by IAN FLEMING.

Creator of Bond Character 

The official James bond films have been produced by EON Productions and producers Harry Saltzman and Cubby Broccoli later succeded by Producers Micheal Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

Films not produced by them are considered as unofficial.
